PROFILE
Aleksei’s first exposure to yoga was when he dived headfirst into Bikram Yoga, practising 365 days straight! Passionate and energised, he then broadened his practice into Jivamukti and Ashtanga, certifying in Ashtanga in 2010 and Jivamukti Yoga in 2013.
A deep spiritual awakening led Aleksei to Jivamukti. This is what his mind was looking for all along – a spiritually liberating, physically challenging, artistic and cleansing practice that is focused on compassion to all beings– human and animal. He took the month-long intensive 300 hr Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training at Omega Institute in New York, USA with founders of the method Sharon Gannon and David Life in 2013 and has been teaching full-time ever since.
Former military attache Aleksei teaches a powerful class, with a challenging “Vinyasa style” asana practice stemming from and reflecting his background in martial arts, gymnastics and bodyweight exercise.
Aleksei experienced that yoga is not just a physical practice – it is a deeply spiritual one where the practitioner dives deep in the study of the Self and is learning to attain a higher level of consciousness thus becoming the master of his or her own life.
Classes are based on the 5 pillars of Jivamukti Yoga: Ahimsa (cultivation of a lifestyle that is harmless and non-violent to mother Earth and its inhabitants), Dhyana (meditation), Nada (sound), Shastra (study of scripture), Bhakti (devotion). Expect a creative and challenging asana practice combined with pranayama breathing techniques, Sanskrit chanting, and a powerful soundtrack.
Come experience his powerful, exhilarating class. It’s unmissable.
